U.S. 395 runs from Interstate 15 near Victorville, California, north into Washington. It enters Nevada briefly near Lake Tahoe, Carson City, and Reno-Sparks. Through much of this area, U.S. 395 is either multi-lane divided highway or freeway. The section of U.S. 395 freeway south of Interstate 80 is designated as the "hidden" Interstate 580.
U.S. 395 North
The U.S. 395 freeway begins at the partial-cloverleaf interchange with Nevada 431 (Mt. Rose Highway). At the present time, taking Nevada 431 west to the freeway north (Exit 57) is longer than staying on U.S. 395 north through to the Exit 58 on-ramp. An older guide sign remains in use at the Exit 67 off-ramp to Glendale Avenue (Nevada 648). Nevada 648 meets Nevada 667 (Kietzke Lane) to the west and Rock Boulevard to the east. The 0.75-mile overhead for Interstate 80 displays Elko and Sacramento.
