Monarch Lake is located outside the northwestern boundary of the Indian Peaks Wilderness area<\/a>. Hiking trails loop around the lake, giving you access to virtually all of the pristine shoreline. Its versatility as a hiking<\/a>, running, horseback riding<\/a> and winter sport trail make it one of the Indian Peaks’ most popular year-round destinations.
