All of Interstate 215, like Clark County Route 215, are designated as the "Bruce Woodbury Beltway." Bruce Woodbury is currently a Clark County Commissioner. Woodbury was first elected in 1982 and has served continuously in the role of commissioner since then. His current term as commissioner is set to end in 2009. In addition, he is chairman of the Regional Transportation Commission and is a lawyer with the firm Jolley, Urga, Wirth, Woodbury and Standish. (For more, visit Bruce Woodbury's official page. Exit 10 (former Exit 8) departs Interstate 215 eastbound for Nevada 171 (Airport Connector) northbound. The Airport Connector provides a direct connection to the McCarran International Airport terminal. Nevada 171 comprises 0.639 mile of the freeway, which spurs into the airport. Interstate 215 enters the city of Henderson; the final exits along eastbound serve Henderson. The city of Henderson has a population of 175,381 as of the 2000 Census. That population total makes Henderson the second largest city in the state, larger than Reno but smaller than Las Vegas. U.S. 93 travels east through Boulder City, then crosses the Colorado River at Hoover Dam, and turns southeast toward Kingman and Phoenix.
