Interstate 215 Inner Loop Traffic from Interstate 80 east, Utah 186 (Foothill Drive) south, and Interstate 80 west converges one quarter mile ahead of the Exit 3 ramp departure for 3300 South (Utah 171 west) and Wasatch Boulevard. Utah 171 constitutes a 15.6-mile long highway between Exit 3 of Interstate 215 and Utah 111 near Magna. Wasatch Boulevard parallels Interstate 215 south from Parleys Canyon to Holladay. Exit 4 departs Interstate 215 south one-half mile away from Utah 171 (3300 South) for 3900 South. 3900 South ventures west from Wasatch Boulevard 1.4 miles to junction Utah 195 (2300 East). Photo taken 09/08/05. Exit 5 follows suit and leaves Interstate 215 in quick succession for the westbound beginning of Utah 266 (4430 South) at Olympus Hills Park. The state highway begins at Interstate 215 and journeys westward to 4500 South along the northern city limits of Holladay. Photo taken 09/08/05. Continuing southward along the Holladay city line one mile north of the Exit 6 single point urban interchange (SPUI) with 6200 South (Utah 190). Photo taken 09/08/05. Use 6200 East (Utah 190) for Wasatch Range ski resorts. Utah 190 (Big Cottonwood Canyon Road) splits with Utah 210 (Wasatch Boulevard) 1.75 miles to the southeast of Exit 6. From there Utah 190 heads east to the Solitude and Brighton ski areas. Utah 201 meanwhile travels south along Wasatch Boulevard 2.2 miles before turning east onto Little Cottonwood Canyon Road. Interstate 215 turns southwest at the Exit 6 SPUI with 6200 South. 6200 South stems west from Utah 190 to Holladay Boulevard and junction Utah 152 (Vanwinkle Expressway / Highland Drive). Photo taken 09/08/05. The Salt Lake City Belt Route turns west on the one-mile approach to Utah 152 (2000 East) and Exit 8. Utah 152, like Utah 266 and Utah 171, begins its routing at Interstate 215. Westbound at the Exit 9 ramp departure to Union Park Avenue. Union Park Avenue meanders southward from South 6600 to Fort Union Boulevard, South Union Avenue, and Forbush Road before transitioning into 1300 East. Photo taken 09/08/05. Like Exit 8 to the east, a high-speed flyover carries drivers onto Interstate 215 west from Union Park Avenue northbound. Attached to the Utah 71 (900 East) overpass is the first guide sign for Exit 10 (280 East). The forthcoming ramp serves interests to U.S. 89 (State Street), Fashion Place Mall, and Winchester Street. The off-ramp ends at the intersection of Winchester Street and Fashion Boulevard at the southeast corner of Fashion Place Mall. U.S. 89 (State Street) passes over Interstate 215 one half mile ahead of the south junction with Interstate 15 (Exit 12). Interstate 15 interchanges with Interstate 215 just north of Midvale in southwest Murray. The north-south freeway provides the main route between downtown Salt Lake City and Provo to the south. Photo taken 09/08/05. Interstate 215 maintains six lanes through the Interstate 15 junction, and eight lanes between Exit 12 and Interstate 80 (Exit 22). Three lanes depart Interstate 215 westbound for the directional ramps onto Interstate 15. Downtown Salt Lake City lies eight miles to the north. Provo meanwhile is a 33 mile drive to the southeast. Traffic interests to Las Vegas, Nevada veer to the west for the beginning of the 410-mile journey to Sin City.
