The next exit along westbound Interstate 76 is Exit 92, Junction Business Loop I-76 and U.S. 6 east to Sterling and west to Brush and Fort Morgan. U.S. 34 is signed here, since the junction with U.S. 34 is less than a half-mile southwest of this interchange. U.S. 34 travels east toward Nebraska and west into Brush and Fort Morgan. If you look very closely at the shield for 270 headed westbound, you'll notice that the red area reads, "FUTURE" rather than "INTERSTATE." This is because Interstate 270 will not be officially extended until after the eastbound lanes are completed. Currently, Future Interstate 270 between Interstate 76 and Interstate 25 exists only in a westbound direction. The eastbound direction will be completed by 2004. Note that the signage points TO U.S. 36, even though technically Interstate 270 and Future Interstate 270 are both secretly U.S. 36. Photo taken 08/29/04.
