Interstate 15 Utah

Interstate 15 travels northward from St. Georges to Tremonton through the heart of the Beehive State. The freeway serves the great Salt Lake City metropolitan area by connecting the capital city with Provo to the south and Ogden to the north. The freeway stays along the western reaches of the Wasatch Mountain Range from southwest Utah through to Great Salt Lake.

Business Loop Interstate 15 - Beaver
The southbound beginning of the Beaver business loop of Interstate 15. Business Loop Interstate 15 & Utah 160 travel 3.6 miles through the Beaver County seat between Exits 112 and 109. The loop provides access to Utah 21 (Center Street) in downtown Beaver. Utah 21 ventures 107 miles west to Minersville, Milford, Garrison, and the Nevada state line. There is no direct connection between Interstate 15 and Utah 21. Photo taken 10/18/04.

Business Loop Interstate 15 - Parowan
The Parowan business loop of Interstate 15 comprises 3.8 miles of roadway through the Iron County seat. Business Loop Interstate 15 departs Interstate 15 southbound via Exit 78 with Utah 274 along Main Street. Utah 271 takes over as the state highway co-route with Business Loop Interstate 15 from Utah 274's south end to junction Utah 143 (Center Street). Utah 143 and Business Loop Interstate 15 follow Main Street south to 200 South west back to Interstate 15 at Exit 75. Photo taken 10/18/04.

Interstate 15 shields posted at the west end of the Exit 129 diamond interchange at Sulphurdale. The shields direct motorists onto the freeway from local ranch roads. Photo taken 10/18/04.
A sign replacement project was underway at Exit 129 at the time of this photograph. Utah, like the state of Wyoming, places wooden shields and signs along their roadways. The new shield featuring a wide series "EM" Highway Gothic font replaced the one with series "C" highway gothic font. The signs face westward above Interstate 15. Photo taken 10/18/04.
