Arizona Loop 202 Outer Loop - Santan Freeway

Perspective from Loop 202 Eastbound
This mileage sign for the next three exits along eastbound Loop 202 is found immediately after the Interstate 10 interchange in Chandler, on this 2003-vintage freeway. The upcoming exits are: Exit 51, McClintock Drive/Chandler Village Drive; Exit 50A, Junction Loop 101 North to Scottsdale; and Exit 50B, Price Road. Photo taken 03/28/04.
A second mileage sign follows the previous sign for the same three destinations, except this sign is 0.75 mile closer than the other one! The next three exits along eastbound Loop 202 are Exit 51, McClintock Drive/Chandler Village Drive; Exit 50A, Junction Loop 101 North to Scottsdale; and Exit 50B, Price Road. Photo taken 03/28/04.
McClintock Drive forms part of the street grid system, heading north into Chandler and Tempe before changing into Hayden Road in Scottsdale. It remains parallel to Loop 101 about a mile to the west of the freeway. Photo taken 03/28/04.

The final two exits of Loop 202/Santan Freeway are Exit 50A, Junction Loop 101 north and Exit 50B, Price Road. Since the transition ramp from Loop 202 to Loop 101 was not open yet, all traffic had to take Exit 50B at the time of this photo. Photo taken 03/28/04.

Since the direct transition ramp from eastbound Loop 202/Santan Freeway to northbound Loop 101/Price Freeway was not yet complete, the detour for Loop 101 (as indicated by this white on black trailblazer) was via northbound Price Road. All traffic had to exit, since Loop 202 east was not yet open. Photo taken 03/28/04.
